John, who passed away unexpectedly, at home, on January 22nd was formerly a member of the Defence Forces and Carlingford Pipe Band. Predeceased by his parents Patrick Garland and Delia Long Garland. He will be sadly missed by his partner Marion, his sons Michael, Ian, Mark, Gavin and Seán and daughter Laura. He was father-in-law to Ashleen, Natasha and John and will be missed by all of his grandchildren, cousins, friends and neighbours.

Reposing in the Eternity Room of Quinn’s Funeral Homes, Bridge Street, Dundalk (Eircode A91 KW52) from 4pm-7pm on Thursday and from 4pm-7pm on Friday. Removal from the funeral home on Saturday, proceeding on foot from his home to St. Joseph’s Church, Castletown, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11.30am. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
